The World of Vala - Basic Rules

“The World of Vala: Ties that Bind” and “Tales from the World of Vala” both utilize the World of Vala Role-playing system to organize their rules. Within the World of Vala, characters have an expectation to follow while playing. The World of Vala isn’t a system where the goal is to dungeon crawl or defeat the ultimate bad guy. The World of Vala is, in a sense, a Tabletop Life Simulator. You’re creating a character to fully immerse yourself in the world and indulge in the stories.

The game asks the player character to get lost in a sandbox that changes underneath their power.  Player choice is paramount within the World of Vala. Because of that, players are encouraged to make characters that are meaningful to them.  Although you can make characters that are not played as seriously, you’d be cheating yourself out of the depth of experiences the system has to offer.  The system rewards players who utilize the world’s culture and history to build their characters. To make their characters a reflection of the world around them and not alien to it.

To accomplish this, there are several basic rules and regulations that one must follow while playing within the World of Vala system. These rules allow every player to play on an equal level.
